  3. What is gold plating and vermeil?

    Gold plate means that the jewellery is sterling silver coated in gold. This looks great but it doesn’t last forever, the plating will eventually wear off and the piece will become silver. 

    We have leveled up and now offer 18 karat vermeil as opposed to gold plating!

    Vemeil is a term used for jewelry made of sterling silver and coated with gold. The word “vermeil” comes from French and is pronounced “ver-may.” The term “vermeil” is legally regulated and to qualify, a piece of jewelry must meet certain criteria. It's base must be sterling silver, it must be plated in gold of at least 10 karats, and the gold plating must have a thickness of at least 2.5 microns.  We only offer 18K, vermeil and plate 4 microns as standard. We will vermeil anything for an additional $200 and guarantee it will last longer than our previous gold plating and is a higher quality finish. 

  4. Can I wear my jewellery in water?

    All jewellery can be worn all the time and Aussie opals are colorfast, but I suggest taking them off when gardening, rock climbing or having an episode and punching a wall.

  5. Can you do engraving?

    Yes! We do engraving on custom pieces only. It is an additional $100 and there is a variety of fonts you can choose from. Perfect for a sentimental gift. Please allow a few extra days for this process.

  6. What's the difference between lab grown and natural stones?

    Lab stones are amazing! They have a lighter carbon footprint, are more ethical, no mining is involved, they are flawless and cost less. It’s a great choice for a lot of reasons. I do personally love an inclusion in a natural stone which you don’t get in labs – it gives the stone character and personality.

  7. Where do you source all your jewels?

    I’ve spent 7 years finding amazing suppliers. All my opals come directly from the miners Tayo and Max in Mintabie, South Australia. Most of my diamonds come from Vital Diamonds in Melbourne and my coloured stones come from suppliers I’ve met overseas. I went to the Bangkok Gem Tradeshow a few years ago and have ethical, reliable contacts from there still.

  8. Do you make men's line?

    I feel all jewellery can be worn by anyone so I don’t have a specific men’s or woman’s line. I do make/have lots of more masculine pieces which can be ordered as custom or in the ring section of the website.

  9. Shipping

  10. Do you ship worldwide?

    Yes, and orders over $200 AUD are free express post! Orders under $200 are $10 for Australia or $25 for international.

  11. How long does shipping take?

    Domestic shipping takes between 2-5 days (on average). I use Auspost Express, International shipping is though DHL express and takes 5-7 working days to most countries. We will send tracking details via email when we despatch your order.

    If you are ordering a silver piece in one of our standard sizes we will most likely have your piece in stock and will dispatch within 48 hours! If you want your new baby in gold or need a custom size we will most likely need to make it especially for you. This can take between 2-4 weeks plus postage time. Hit me up if you're in a hurry though and I'll try work some magic for you.

    If its a One Off Beauties piece it can be posted within 48 hours as long as you don’t need it to be resized. The resizing process time varies depending on how drastic the size has to increased or decreased.

  13. How do I pay for custom order?

    Through the website. I will make you a custom payment link specifically for you. You can pay with your debit/credit card, Paypal, After-pay, Sezzle or Lay-buy. Please note, custom orders are final – we can’t offer exchanges or returns.

  14. Do you have payment plan?

    Yes, you can pay me a little bit at a time via the custom payment link on the website. Once your entire order is paid off, I'll send you the jewellery.

    I'll start making the jewellery as soon as your deposit is paid. Terms for payment plans are six months, I also offer Afterpay, Lay-Buy and Sezzle.

  15. Gift card payment

    To buy something using a gift voucher is easy, simply choose what you want to buy off my website and proceed to the check out. There will be a code on the voucher, type the code in at the checkout and it will apply your voucher.

    You can apply multiple vouchers if you’re lucky enough to have more than one!

  17. How do I order a size on your website?

    Simply use the drop down menu to select your size. If you don’t know your size choose “I don’t know my size” and I will send you an email on how to work it out after purchasing. If you need a half in between size or a custom size that’s also no issue, just choose “I know my size but it's not listed here” and you will get an automatic email after purchasing which you can respond to with your desires, hopes and dreams.

  18. How do I know what my size is?

    Got trouble finding your ring size? No problem, choose “I don’t know my size” and I will send you an email on how to work it out after purchasing.

  19. Can I resize my ring if I order the wrong size?

    Standard size collection pieces in silver can be exchanged for another standard size free of charge. One Off Beauties, Customs, solid gold & custom sized collection pieces can be resized up or down up to a maximum of three sizes. Resize fee is $50 AUD and takes up to two weeks

  21. Do you do custom orders?

    Yes, I love making your custom dreams come true! I can make you custom rings, pendants, necklaces, spoons, dog tags ~ you name it. Custom orders start at $1000 AUD. Checkout my custom page here where you can digitally make your own ring and I’ll reply to you with the quote.

  22. How does the design for a custom order work?

    It’s usually a combined effort, you give me a rough idea and I’ll whip up some options for you. If you want to hand over complete creative control to me I can design something amazing for you or if you have something specific in mind I can work with you to make that a reality too. I’ll send you pictures of the stones and you can approve them before I start making.

  23. How long does a custom order take?

    It depends on how busy we are, it can take 2-12 weeks to make your custom order. I can give you a rough time frame when you're ready to order.

  24. Can we come to the store to order a custom piece

  25. Are the items in One Off Beauties available for customs?

    We only have one piece for each design, but if it’s sold out and you want something similar, just let us know your enquiry and we’ll give you a quote and put you on our custom order waitlist.

  26. Returns, Exchanges, Resizes & Repairs

  27. Returns

    We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

    To start a return, you can contact us at hello@milliesavage.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 337 Smith Street, Fitzroy , VIC, 3065 or dropped off in store. 

    If your return is accepted, we’ll reply with instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

    Please note that if your country of residence is not Australia, shipping your goods may take longer than expected.

    Please note, custom products cannot be returned or refunded. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. You can always contact us for any return questions at hello@milliesavage.com.

  28. Damages and Issues

    Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, so that we may evaluate the issue and make it right.

    Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items, Not Quite Right items or gift cards.

  29. Exchanges

    The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. We will happily exchange in store if we have stock available. 

  30. Refunds

    We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return to let you know if the refund was approved or not.

    If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

    If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at hello@milliesavage.com.

  31. Repairs

    Any manufacturing faults will be repaired free of charge within the 12 month warranty period, please contact  hello@milliesavage.com if you believe your item is faulty and we will assess the item for you. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

    Damages outside of the 12 month warranty will need to be assessed and we will provide a quote depending on the work required. Please follow your care instructions carefully to ensure you properly look after your jewelry and no damages occur. 

  32. Resizes

    All purchases of One Off Beauties include a complimentary resize of up to 3 sizes bigger or 3 sizes smaller. All other resizes incur a $50 fee.

    We cannot resize silver collection pieces, instead we are happy to offer exchanges for the correct size. Contact us at hello@milliesavage.com if you are unsure if you are eligible for a resize or exchange of size.
